OBJECTIVE

The parcel’s confinement conferred the front elevation a crucial importance, as if the entire building was just a façade. For that matter, it was decided to work with a random pattern of offset columns that carry their loads on constant section beams. The same-size columns shift positions between floors and the incremental load on the lower floors reveals itself in the increasing number of them descending towards the ground floor. The aleatory rhythm is contained within precise boundaries on the building edges.

CONTEXT

The building sits on the edge of the city of Buenos Aires in a middle-class residential neighborhood central boulevard. The plot’s wider side verges on the polo field, the proximity of the Río de la Plata river grants its district an urban front character.

PERFORMANCE

The building transformed a turned down area and allowed the completion of the urban front of this sector of the City of Buenos Aires.
