OBJECTIVE

The building is divided into three distinct areas:
-“Agora”, located at the top, is a space dedicated to reading, writing and the performing arts.
-“Punto Blanco”, in the lower part, is intended for meditation, reflection and introspection.
-The Garden Zone, outside, is intended for the practice
of yoga and other outdoor activities.
Constructed of reinforced concrete, the building features Venetian mosaic murals, marble floors, wooden furniture and steel fenestration. Its design emphasizes the variation of light throughout the day, as well as natural lighting
and ventilation.

CONTEXT

The meditation space is located on a university campus in Monterrey, Mexico’s second most populous city, known as the City of Mountains. This project was designed to offer occupants panoramic views of the sky and surrounding nature, integrating them seamlessly into the building’s natural surroundings.

PERFORMANCE

This project offers a haven for introspection, welcoming both students and visitors to diverse array of academic and cultural endeavors, including dance, writing, and music. Over time, this space has evolved into a hallmark of the institution, serving as a tranquil retreat for the community to engage in meditation, contemplation, and various physical and mental wellness activities.
